Precise surface finishing through double-disc grinding

In addition to stamping and forming technology, MANZ also performs various surface finishing processes directly in-house. One example is double-disc grinding, a process for the high-precision machining of components.

With our double-disc grinding machine, workpieces can be machined to achieve plane parallelism of up to 0.02 mm. This process is particularly suitable for components where precisely defined flatness and high dimensional accuracy are essential.

In plane-parallel grinding, both sides of a workpiece are machined simultaneously. This allows for very uniform and precise results. At the same time, the process enables the economical machining of even large quantities.

The system is also versatile and can process a wide variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, or carbide. Even thin or sensitive workpieces can be ground reliably and gently.

Due to these properties, double-disc grinding is used in many industries – from larger components in the automotive industry to very small precision parts, for example in precision engineering.
